Grass: share bandwidth, delegate GRASS or use web data

Grass connects people who share unused internet bandwidth with businesses that need public web data. The app relays requests through participants’ connections; the network processes the results for data customers. GRASS is a token on Solana that holders can delegate to network routers.

Three ways to participate in Grass

App users provide a connection, token holders delegate GRASS, and customers request web data.

Run the app

  1. 01Make your connection available
  2. 02Relay public web requests
  3. 03Receive points for your contribution

The Grass app runs a lightweight node. Uptime Points track availability and eligible referral activity; Network Points track actual traffic. Traffic depends on demand for connections in your location and their reliability.

Delegate GRASS

  1. 01Choose a network router
  2. 02Delegate GRASS on Solana
  3. 03Share router rewards after its commission

Routers direct web requests to Grass nodes. Delegation supports a router’s participation in the network. It retains its commission from the staking reward; the remaining reward is shared by its delegators in proportion to their delegated GRASS.

Get web data

  1. 01Submit a public URL
  2. 02Grass fetches and renders the page
  3. 03Receive HTML, Markdown or text

Contents API retrieves a public page and returns content for search, retrieval and AI applications. It supports JavaScript rendering and controls for location and freshness. Customers request access through LCR.

Availability and actual traffic have separate counters

Keeping the app connected makes bandwidth available. Requests arrive when customers need that connection. Grass records these two contributions separately.

UPTIME

Keep a connection available

Uptime Points reflect availability, eligible referrals and milestones. They can grow while the node waits for customer traffic.

NETWORK

Carry requested traffic

Network Points reflect actual bandwidth use. A daily pool of 1 000 000 points is distributed for this contribution. Location, stability and demand affect the traffic a node receives. Referrals do not generate Network Points.

REWARDS

Follow the current distribution

The rewards programme can distribute GRASS or USDC under the rules of each distribution. The dashboard shows available rewards and claims; eligibility depends on the programme terms and your jurisdiction.

The app, account, staking page and data API

Grass provides separate interfaces for contributing bandwidth, managing rewards, delegating tokens and buying web data.

Share unused bandwidth

Grass App

The official download page offers Grass for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android. The app connects your device as a node and lets you pause participation.

Points, claims and Grass Wallet

Grass Dashboard / Wallet

The account dashboard brings together contribution and rewards. Grass Wallet is an in-app managed wallet on Solana, accessed with the account and a passkey. Swap network fees are deducted from the token being exchanged, so no separate SOL balance is needed.

Delegate tokens to a router

Grass Staking

The Foundation staking interface lets GRASS holders choose a router, view their position, claim rewards and request unstaking.

Public web content for applications

LCR Contents API

LCR provides access to Contents API after customer review. A request returns a page as HTML, Markdown or plain text for downstream applications.

Connect the app and follow your contribution

Start with an account and the official app. Your dashboard records points and any rewards available under the current programme.

01

Open a Grass account

Use the official dashboard to register or sign in. Read the rewards programme’s eligibility rules before participating.

02

Install the official app

Choose the download for your device, sign in and connect it to Grass. You can pause bandwidth sharing in the app.

03

Read points and rewards separately

Uptime and Network Points show different contributions. When a reward distribution is available, the dashboard gives its claim process and eligible amount.

Delegation, rewards and a seven-day exit

GRASS delegation is a position in the router staking programme. The router’s commission and the amount you delegate determine your share of its reward.

DELEGATE

Choose a router

Connect a Solana wallet to the official staking interface and select an available router. Review its commission before delegating GRASS. Locked tokens become eligible for staking after they vest.

CLAIM

Claim or restake rewards

The router keeps its commission; the rest of its staking reward is allocated proportionally to delegators. Claiming and restaking require separate actions in the interface.

7 DAYS

Request unstaking

An unstaking request is irrevocable and starts a seven-day lock. Unawarded rewards on the requested tokens are forfeited. After the period ends, the interface lets you withdraw those tokens.

Data customers, network contributors and routers

Grass Foundation owns the operating, data and search businesses; each receives revenue from its own services. Regen Financial’s 17 September 2026 reconciliation for Grass DataCo Ltd lists USD 14 527 555.66 of reported revenue for 1 January–30 June 2026. Of that revenue, USD 11 351 405.66 was substantiated by cash receipts reviewed in the procedures.

Data and search customers

Customer payments → data and search businesses

DataCo sells web data to AI customers. SearchCo develops search products, including the LCR offering. OpCo operates the Grass protocol, residential proxy network, rewards and staking.

Rewards programme → eligible contributors

The programme distributes GRASS or USDC according to the applicable distribution rules. Eligible participants claim their allocated rewards in the dashboard.

Router staking reward

Router staking reward → operator and delegators

The initial token allocation assigns 30 000 000 GRASS to router rewards. A router retains its commission from a staking reward and shares the remainder according to delegated GRASS.

Practical questions

1What does Grass do with an internet connection?

The app makes unused bandwidth available for requests to public web pages. Grass routes those requests and processes the results into data services for businesses.

2How do I start using the app?

Create an account in the official dashboard, download Grass for your device and connect the app. The dashboard records your contribution and available rewards.

3What is the difference between Uptime and Network Points?

Uptime Points track availability and eligible referral activity. Network Points track actual traffic, which depends on demand and connection reliability. The daily Network Points pool contains 1 000 000 points.

4Are Grass rewards paid in GRASS or USDC?

The programme permits both GRASS and USDC. The rules and dashboard for each distribution determine its form, eligibility and claim amount.

5Which network does GRASS use?

GRASS is a token on Solana. Grass also runs a network of bandwidth nodes, routers and validators that supplies public web data.

6How does GRASS delegation earn rewards?

You delegate tokens to an available router. The router retains its commission from the staking reward and allocates the remainder proportionally to its delegators. Rewards can be claimed or restaked manually.

7How long does unstaking take?

The staking terms specify a seven-day lock after an irrevocable unstaking request. Unawarded rewards on the requested tokens are forfeited; the tokens can be withdrawn after that period.
