How we calculate Net APY

Net APY = gross APY minus the amortized cost of withdrawal fees. We model a representative $1,000 position held for one year and subtract the cheapest available withdrawal fee, converted to USD. On cheap networks (TRC20) the drag is near zero; on expensive ones (ERC20) it noticeably lowers the real yield — the difference DefiLlama and StakingRewards ignore.

FAQ

Stablecoin Staking FAQ

What is the best APY on stablecoins right now?
We rank USDT and USDC staking by net APY — the yield left after withdrawal fees. The top offer is shown at the top of the table and refreshes every 10 minutes from live exchange data.
What is Net APY and why does it matter?
Net APY is the gross staking APY minus the amortized cost of withdrawal fees. Two exchanges can advertise the same APY, but if one charges a $5 ERC20 withdrawal and the other $1 on TRC20, your real take-home yield differs. Net APY makes that comparable.
How do you calculate Net APY?
We model a representative $1,000 position held for one year, take the cheapest available withdrawal fee per exchange, convert it to USD, and subtract it from the gross APY as an annualized percentage. The assumption is configurable; deposits are assumed free as most CEXs do not charge for them.
What is a yield-bearing stablecoin?
A yield-bearing stablecoin pays interest by design: tokens such as sUSDe, sDAI or USDS accrue yield inside the token itself, so the balance grows without any staking action. The offers on this page work differently — they are exchange earn products on plain USDT and USDC, where the yield comes from the platform rather than the token. We rank both kinds by net APY after withdrawal fees so the comparison stays honest.
Is USDT or USDC staking safer?
Both are major stablecoins, but custody risk depends on the exchange, not the coin. Always diversify across exchanges and prefer flexible products if you may need liquidity. We compare live rates so you can pick by net yield, not marketing.
