Accounts and keys
One account can have multiple keys. A full-access key controls the account; a function-call key is restricted to a specific contract.
Execution
Contracts compile to WebAssembly. Rust is one development language; using an EVM wallet requires an integration in the application.
How NEAR Intents settles a swap
With NEAR Intents, users specify the asset they want to receive. Solvers compete to fulfil the swap, with settlement through a contract on NEAR.
Outcome
Choose the input and output assets, amounts and networks.
Solver quote
Solvers offer swap terms. You accept a quote with a specified output amount.
Settlement on NEAR
The Verifier contract validates and settles the accepted operation. The selected route specifies the destination network.

wallet.near.org is now a wallet directory. An existing account can be opened in another compatible wallet using its recovery method.

Move assets to NEAR
For a direct NEAR withdrawal from an exchange, select the NEAR network and your NEAR account address. NEAR Intents and Rubic provide swap routes from other networks.

Gas, storage and account access
Transactions spend NEAR on gas. Some tokens also require balance registration in their contract, funded by a storage deposit.
Gas
Execution is charged in NEAR. A swap service may charge a separate fee.
Storage
A deposit covers storage of your token balance record. Its size and refund rules depend on the contract.
Permissions
Check the type of key being granted. Full access allows NEAR transfers and changes to the account’s other keys.

1What happened to wallet.near.org?+
The site became a wallet directory. Import your account into a compatible wallet using its recovery phrase. Old email or SMS recovery links open MyNearWallet. Its full wallet service is scheduled to end on 31 October 2026, and some features may be restricted from October as it gradually shifts toward migration and recovery. After recovering access, move to a supported wallet such as Meteor.
2Can I use MetaMask, Rabby or OKX?+
Support depends on the application. Nira accepts MetaMask and Rabby and creates a NEAR account for that login. NearFi lists OKX among its NEAR Connect wallets.
3Why keep NEAR after buying a token?+
NEAR pays for gas. Some tokens require a separate deposit to register your balance in their contract.
4How does NearFi Swap differ from the bot and Terminal?+
You approve Swap trades in your own wallet. The bot and Terminal manage the keys of dedicated trading wallets; those keys can be exported.
