NEAR Intents swap: quote, deposit, status and refund

Written by Yieldo ·
A user feeds a coin into a swap machine; a robot delivers a different token beside a separate return pipe.

A NEAR Intents swap has four key pieces: a quote with the selected networks, a deposit address, a recipient and a refund address. After sending funds, keep the swap receipt, wait for SUCCESS and open the destination-chain transaction. Confirmation of the initial transfer is the first stage.

NEAR Intents accepts an outcome such as “send USDC on Base and receive USDC on Arbitrum,” while liquidity providers offer to fill it. This guide follows a 1Click deposit from the source chain with a fixed input: ORIGIN_CHAIN → DESTINATION_CHAIN, EXACT_INPUT. This flow has its own deposit. How NEAR Intents works.

Choose the token and its network together

Write out the full route: USDC on Base → USDC on Arbitrum. A matching ticker does not mean a shared balance: the funds must reach the right network and recipient. Select assets available in the application; the official supported-token list identifies their networks.

The official NEAR Intents website links to near.com. If your chosen service issues 1Click deposit instructions, the sequence below helps you read its quote. For wallets and applications, see the NEAR ecosystem hub.

Read the quote before sending

A quote offers an exchange under stated conditions. With EXACT_INPUT, you fix how much you send. The difference between the price shown before confirmation and the execution price. Settings usually specify the maximum allowed deviation; the swap fails if it is exceeded. tolerance sets how much the result may worsen before execution. A 0.5% tolerance permits a lower output; choose it around the minimum number of tokens you are willing to receive.

Request the quote after choosing both assets and networks. Find the input, expected output, minimum output, expiry, recipient and refund terms. Save them with the deposit instructions. EXACT_INPUT and other swap types.

Receipt fieldHow to use it
amountInThe source-token amount that must reach the deposit.
amountOutThe expected destination-token amount.
minAmountOutThe minimum output after applying slippage tolerance.
recipientThe address receiving the swap output.
refundToThe address receiving the source asset back; this guide uses source-chain refunds.

1Click’s amountIn, amountOut and minAmountOut fields use the respective token’s smallest units. For six-decimal USDC, 100000000 means 100 USDC. In a user interface, read the amount with its ticker rather than copying a raw integer into your wallet. 1Click quote fields.

Calculate the route’s cost

Compare what you spend sending with what arrives on the destination chain. An application can add fees; the NEAR Intents fee schedule depends on the distribution channel. Add the wallet’s source-transfer fee or the exchange’s withdrawal charge separately.

Illustrative example: you send 1,000 USDC on Base. The quote offers 998 USDC on Arbitrum and a 993.01 USDC minimum at 0.5% tolerance. Sending costs another 0.20 USD. Assume 1 USDC equals 1 USD on both sides.

  • Expected cost: 1,000 − 998 + 0.20 = 2.20 USD, or 0.22% of 1,000 USD.
  • At the exact minimum: 1,000 − 993.01 + 0.20 = 7.19 USD, or 0.719%.

1Click already includes the recipient withdrawal charge, withdrawFee, in amountOut; deducting it again would double-count it. refundFee applies to returning the source asset. The example excludes the cost of spending the received USDC later.

Send to the current deposit instructions

  1. Check both addresses. The recipient must accept your selected token on the destination chain. Use an accessible source-chain address for refunds. A completed swap and a refund follow different instructions.
  2. Get the deposit address. Copy depositAddress from the current quote. If it includes depositMemo, enter that value in your sending wallet’s or exchange’s memo/tag field.
  3. Check expiry and amount. If the instructions expire before you send, request a new quote. For EXACT_INPUT, the full amountIn must arrive; a charge deducted from the transfer can leave the deposit short.
  4. Send the selected asset on the specified network. Keep the deposit address, any memo, the swap link and the source transaction hash—its blockchain identifier.

The minimum follows the particular quote. Under EXACT_INPUT, a deposit below amountIn is returned; a larger deposit is swapped and the excess refunded after completion. Variable-input swaps have different rules. How deposit amounts are handled.

Follow the status to the result

Open the application’s receipt or search your deposit address in NEAR Intents Explorer. When checking 1Click directly, include the deposit memo if the quote supplied one. Swap status data.

1Click statusMeaningAction
PENDING_DEPOSITWaiting for the deposit. If sent, open the source transaction and match its network, token, address and memo to the receipt.
KNOWN_DEPOSIT_TXThe deposit transaction was detected.Follow processing; another transfer is unnecessary.
INCOMPLETE_DEPOSITLess than the required amount arrived.Compare the deposit with amountIn and any deducted charge; follow this swap’s refund.
PROCESSINGThe swap is executing.Keep the receipt and wait for the result.
SUCCESSTokens reached the recipient.Open the destination transaction; check token, amount and address.
REFUNDEDFunds returned to the refund address.Check the source asset arriving at refundTo.
FAILEDAn error occurred.Save the details, contact the application’s support and inspect its refund information.

These states appear in the documented 1Click flow. The quote’s time estimate starts after deposit confirmation. The source transfer and destination delivery have separate transactions.

Check the refund and close the loop

Read the amount actually returned and its reason: 1Click provides refundedAmountFormatted and refundReason. If the wallet has not displayed it, open the refund address in the source-chain explorer and find the relevant token transfer.

If a state remains unchanged, keep the source hash, deposit address, memo, networks, tokens and receipt. Give these to the application’s support. The official delayed-swap troubleshooting guide starts with the source transaction and a matching deposit address.

Your swap is complete when the intended recipient has the asset on the destination chain; a refund is complete when the source asset reaches the refund address. After a refund, start a new swap with a new quote and its instructions.
