Risk OffIRAN RISK
🔴 Negative — critical geopolitical news is priced in only until reopened U.S. markets confirm it.
Yesterday I expected the correction to hold unless BTC reclaimed 64,000 and ETF flows turned positive. BTC bounced but remains below that line; ETF data are not fresh, and the last available print, updated two days ago, was still a 265 million outflow. The new critical input is geopolitical: Trump ordered a fresh attack against Iran, yet weekend crypto trading has not delivered a confirmed risk-on reversal.
That makes this a crossroads rather than a recovery. The bullish case is that BTC stopped falling and escalation odds eased from the spike; the bearish case is that volatility is compressed at 26.6%, stablecoin supply is near recent lows, and institutional demand has not reopened. High-impact monetary headlines also keep the backdrop noisy: Fed-chair speculation, dollar weakness and fresh price-hike plans all complicate the inflation story.
With the dollar, yields, VIX, S&P 500 and ETF flows frozen for the weekend, price action alone carries less weight. If the Iran shock moves from headlines into markets, it should show first in reopened volatility, yields and ETF flows.
WHAT TO WATCH
- BTC: a reclaim of 64,000 before the next review would weaken the correction signal; another close below it keeps the failed-bounce setup alive.
- BTC ETF flows: any fresh inflow would challenge the institutional-caution narrative; a new outflow above 200 million would confirm it.
- BTC volatility: a move above 30% together with a break away from the control line would show compression resolving; without both, weekend price action remains noise.
