How to start on Robinhood Chain

Written by Eugen Voyager ·

You have heard Robinhood runs its own chain and want the practical version: what it is, what you can do without a Robinhood account, and whom to follow. This page answers those three and claims nothing the sources do not. The live state of the network sits on our Robinhood Chain hub.

What Robinhood Chain is

The documentation puts it plainly: "Robinhood Chain is an Arbitrum Layer-2 Chain built on Ethereum, using Ethereum blobs for data availability". Robinhood's page calls it "a permissionless, AI-native Layer 2 blockchain built for financial services and real-world assets", with a block time of 100ms and "Ethereum's security". Gas is ETH, the chain is fully EVM-compatible and supports ERC-4337. A public testnet opened on 10 February 2026; mainnet launched on 1 July 2026, "Built using the Arbitrum Platform to institutional standards".

The key line for anyone outside Robinhood is in the support article: the chain is "Not connected to your Robinhood brokerage or crypto accounts". Permissionless means what it usually means — an address here is an ordinary EVM address and nobody checks who you are. Which products on the chain you may use is a separate question.

What is open without a Robinhood account

The chain itself. You can connect "any EVM-compatible wallet" by adding the network by hand. Mainnet: chain ID 4663, symbol ETH, RPC at rpc.mainnet.chain.robinhood.com, explorer at robinhoodchain.blockscout.com. Testnet: chain ID 46630 at rpc.testnet.chain.robinhood.com. Take them from the documentation, not a copy of it — this one included.

Deployed there, per Robinhood's documentation: Uniswap as a DEX, Rialto as a PropAMM, Morpho for lending, Lighter and Arcus for perpetuals, Chainlink price feeds, Alchemy for RPC, LayerZero for bridging, Paxos USDG as a stablecoin, Fireblocks and BitGo for custody, plus Zerion and Allium. Uniswap, Morpho and Chainlink list the chain in their own docs as well.

Two caveats. Morpho here is a protocol with published addresses; we claim nothing about what it pays. Robinhood Earn, which routes lending through Morpho, is for "eligible US users", as are the "Agentic Accounts for crypto" coming "soon" — Robinhood products, not chain features. Whether Lighter's perpetuals reach your country we have not checked.

Getting ETH or USDG into the network

Route one: withdraw from an exchange into the chain

The shortest path. Some exchanges list Robinhood Chain in their withdrawal network selector: pick the asset, pick the network, paste an EVM address. Nothing to sign. On the check date our data had ETH going out from KuCoin, OKX and BingX; USDG, the Paxos stablecoin the documentation names, from KuCoin, BingX and Gate. Bitget had the route closed that day.

Fees, minimums and whether a route is open are what the table tracks, straight from exchange APIs. Data as of 14 September 2026.

Withdrawal fees to Robinhood Chain

Exchange Network on the exchange Fee Minimum Withdrawals Withdraw
OKX ROBINHOODCHAIN 0 ETH 0 ETH Closed Withdraw
OKX ROBINHOOD CHAIN 0.000002 ETH 0.0001 ETH Open Withdraw
Bitget ROBINHOOD 0.00003962 ETH 0.00396133 ETH Closed Withdraw
KuCoin ROBINHOOD 0.0002 ETH 0.0004 ETH Open Withdraw
BingX ROBINHOOD 0.0006 ETH 0.001999 ETH Open Withdraw
Gate.io ROBINHOOD 0.05 USDG 0.009994 USDG Open Withdraw
KuCoin ROBINHOOD 0.5 USDG 1 USDG Open Withdraw
BingX ROBINHOOD 1.5 USDG 5 USDG Open Withdraw
Exchange data as of 14.09.2026 18:01

How to read it

  • The network must say Robinhood or Robinhood Chain. An Ethereum row says nothing about this chain.
  • Check the minimum, not only the fee. A route can be open and still refuse your size.
  • "Closed" means not today, not never. Exchanges suspend and resume networks routinely.
  • Watch the date beside the table. These values change without notice.

Per asset: ETH withdrawal fees and USDG withdrawal fees.

Route two: bridge from Ethereum

If the coins already sit in your own wallet, the canonical route is the Arbitrum bridge portal, which the documentation links with Robinhood Chain preselected; it carries ETH and ERC-20 tokens. The timings are structural: a deposit takes around ten minutes, a withdrawal around seven days of challenge period plus a claim transaction you sign yourself. The docs also list Stargate, Transporter, Relay, Across, LiFi and 0x. Take bridge addresses from the bridging page, never from a search result.

Before you press send

  1. The exchange selector says Robinhood or Robinhood Chain, read twice.
  2. The address is your Ethereum address, copied from the wallet, not a chat.
  3. Your wallet's chain ID matches the documentation.
  4. The first transfer is small: confirm it on the explorer, then send the rest.
  5. Keep ETH for gas: a wallet holding only USDG cannot pay for its next transaction.

Stock Tokens: what they are and who may hold them

Legally they are "tokenised debt securities issued by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited", and the documentation states that they "do not grant investors any legal or beneficial rights in, or against the issuer of, those underlying securities". Holding one is not holding a share. They are ERC-20; dividends and splits run through an on-chain multiplier under ERC-8056. Only Authorized Participants mint them.

Who may hold them is where most readers stop. The launch release calls them "available today on the Robinhood Wallet in more than 120 countries, although availability varies by jurisdiction" — that last clause is load-bearing. They are "not registered under U.S. securities laws and may not be offered, sold, or delivered … to U.S. persons", with further restrictions for Canada, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. The issuer's restricted-jurisdictions list names Cuba, Belarus, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, Ukraine, South Sudan, Sudan, Myanmar and Venezuela.

Do not confuse these with "Classic Stock Tokens" in the Robinhood Europe app: "derivative contracts between you and Robinhood", EU and EEA only, and "you cannot send them to other wallets or platforms at this time". Our coverage is on the tokenized stocks page.

Is there a network token, and an airdrop?

There is no network token in the launch materials, and gas is ETH. That is the whole answer.

The second usually means something else. At launch Lighter set aside a pool of its LIT tokens "to the Robinhood community" and awards points for perpetual trades — Lighter's programme, on Lighter's terms, and a pool of tokens is not a promise of money to anyone. People farm those points; that is somebody else's behaviour, no reward is promised, and we publish no airdrop checklists.

One incident first. On 23 July 2026 Vlad Tenev's account on X was compromised and promoted a fake token billed as the "official Robinhood chain mascot". Robinhood's statement: "Our CEO Vlad Tenev's X account was compromised and posted a fake promotion for a meme coin". A verified account posting a contract address is not a source.

Who to follow

  • Official pages. The chain page, the documentation, the newsroom, the support article, the explorer and the status page.
  • One social account. @RobinhoodApp, the only one robinhood.com links to.
  • Two executives, with a caveat. Vlad Tenev, CEO, and Johann Kerbrat, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Robinhood Crypto. Neither is linked from robinhood.com, and one has been hacked: check anything consequential there.
  • The builders. Arbitrum, Uniswap, Lighter, Morpho and Chainlink, whose presence is confirmed in documentation rather than by a press mention.

Memecoins on the chain

They exist, and Kerbrat has said plainly that "memes are an important part of crypto". Exchanges send several into the network, so those routes appear in the same table. We publish no rating and no forecast for any of them, and keep them on our memecoins page. They are the highest-risk thing here.

What to do today

  1. Add the network to a wallet you control, with parameters from the documentation.
  2. Send a small amount of ETH or USDG from a venue whose route is open above.
  3. Confirm arrival on the explorer and keep some ETH for gas.
  4. To look around, swap a little on a DEX and read the addresses you touch.
  5. Treat Stock Tokens as gated: check the restricted-jurisdictions list.
  6. Take contract addresses only from the official pages.
  7. Expect nothing from points programmes. If they pay, that is a surprise.

An older chain gets the same treatment on our Base hub; the rest sit in the ecosystems section.

FAQ

Do I need a Robinhood account to use Robinhood Chain?

No. Robinhood's own support article states that the chain is not connected to your Robinhood brokerage or crypto accounts, and that any EVM-compatible wallet can connect once the network is added by hand. An address here is an ordinary EVM address.

What is gas paid in?

Ether. The documentation describes an Arbitrum chain built on Ethereum, using Ethereum blobs for data availability, with gas paid in ETH. There is no network token in the launch materials, so a wallet holding only a stablecoin cannot pay for its next transaction.

Can anyone buy Stock Tokens?

No. They are tokenised debt securities issued by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited, not registered under US securities laws and not offered to US persons, with further restrictions for Canada, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. The issuer publishes a restricted-jurisdictions list; read it before assuming access.

How long does bridging from Ethereum take?

The documentation gives structural timings for the canonical Arbitrum route: a deposit takes roughly ten minutes, while a withdrawal back to Ethereum waits out a challenge period of about a week and then needs a claim transaction you sign on Ethereum yourself.

Is there a Robinhood Chain airdrop?

Robinhood has announced none, and the launch materials contain no network token. Lighter set aside a pool of its own tokens for the Robinhood community and awards points for perpetual trades — that is Lighter's programme, not a promise of reward. We publish no airdrop checklists.
