Supplied asset
A deposit adds liquidity. Interest depends on borrowing demand and the selected reserve’s terms.
Your ecosystem guide / Aave
Aave is a lending protocol: suppliers deposit assets and borrowers obtain liquidity against collateral. The protocol version, network and market determine position terms. V3 uses separate pools; V4 consolidates liquidity through a Hub and serves positions through Spokes.
Each position has its own accounting.
A deposit adds liquidity. Interest depends on borrowing demand and the selected reserve’s terms.
A borrower receives the selected asset and accrues debt plus interest. Eligible collateral value limits borrowing capacity.
AAVE participates in protocol governance. GHO is the ecosystem’s dollar stablecoin with its own issuance and usage rules.
Lending position
V3 and V4 account for supplies differently. Borrowing adds debt and collateral requirements.
An aToken represents the deposit; its balance increases as interest accrues.
The supply earns interest attributable to the user’s position. The supply rate derives from borrower interest after protocol fees.
The borrower pays interest for using the asset. On V4, a collateral risk premium also affects borrowing cost.
Market selection starts with the complete set of parameters.
V3 operates across several networks, including Polygon. Each pool has its own reserves, caps, collateral parameters and liquidity.
V4 has launched on Ethereum, Avalanche and Base. A Spoke serves particular positions and risks within the Hub’s liquidity limits.
Network, market address, version and Spoke identify the position. Rates and eligible collateral can differ for the same asset.
V3 and Pro interfaces separate protocol versions. GHO has its own product set.
V3 markets
Supplies, borrowing, aTokens and collateral status on the selected V3 network.
V4 markets
Choose the V4 Hub, Spoke, reserve, collateral and debt position.
Ecosystem stablecoin
Documentation and applications for the GHO dollar stablecoin.
Connect a wallet to the market’s network. Supply the reserve’s asset and pay gas using that network’s gas asset. The version and available deployment determine interface parameters.
Open V3 or Aave Pro and select the market. Its address distinguishes the position from a same-named asset on another network.
Token spending approval and supplying are separate operations. Collateral use depends on reserve rules.
Before borrowing, the interface shows its effect on health factor. After execution, prices and interest accrual continue to change it.
Borrowers pay interest in the debt asset. Suppliers receive the result attributable to their share after the configured protocol fee. Liquidity utilisation affects rates; V4 borrowing cost also includes a collateral risk premium.
Withdrawable assets and debt follow the current position state.
Withdrawal uses available liquidity. Assets securing debt are also constrained by collateral requirements.
Adding eligible collateral or repaying debt improves health factor, all else equal. Below 1, a liquidator can repay debt and receive collateral with a bonus.
AAVE participates in protocol governance. Interest accrues to asset suppliers under the lending position’s terms.

Launches are confirmed on Ethereum, Avalanche and Base. Market and asset availability differs by network and Spoke.
Some liquidity may be borrowed. If the supply backs a loan, debt and collateral requirements further constrain withdrawals.
When health factor falls below 1. On V4, repayment targets a Spoke-level health factor and the bonus depends on position health.
