Network gas
ETH on Linea pays for transfers and contract calls. An Ethereum transaction needs a separate ETH balance on Ethereum.
Your ecosystem guide / Linea
Linea is an Ethereum Layer 2 using ZK proofs. EVM applications support token swaps, liquidity provision and borrowing. Transactions use ETH for gas; LINEA is linked to the ecosystem’s economics and development.
Each asset serves a different operation.
ETH on Linea pays for transfers and contract calls. An Ethereum transaction needs a separate ETH balance on Ethereum.
LINEA is used in ecosystem programmes and the buy-and-burn mechanism. Network transaction fees are paid in ETH.
A token has a contract address on Linea. Identical tickers on two networks can refer to different issuances.
Operation lifecycle
The native bridge connects the networks through messages. An aggregator offers separate routes with its own pricing and liquidity.
A native-bridge deposit starts with a transaction on Ethereum. After message delivery, the asset becomes available on Linea; further transactions require ETH on Linea.
How it works ↗Sending and receiving are separate stages. Claim availability depends on message finalisation. Receiving on Ethereum also involves that network’s gas.
How it works ↗The route price reflects the selected provider’s fees, swaps and available liquidity. The receive amount and destination network are specified before sending.
How it works ↗A ZK proof connects transaction execution results to Ethereum.
Transactions change contract state on Linea. Lineascan exposes addresses and transfers.
The proving system establishes that a batch of transactions was executed correctly.
Data and proofs connect L2 state to Ethereum contracts; the bridge uses messages between the layers.
Etherex supports swaps and liquidity; Aave V3 supports supplies and borrowing. Linea Names associates an address with a readable name.
Swaps and liquidity
Concentrated-liquidity pools. A provider’s position depends on the selected price range and pool terms.
Lending
Aave V3 on Linea supports supplying assets and collateralised borrowing. Reserve parameters and collateral health constrain borrowing.
Address names
Register a .linea.eth name for a wallet address and ecosystem identity.
Use an EVM wallet supporting chain ID 59144. An exchange withdrawal must use the Linea network; a bridge moves an asset from another network.
Mainnet RPC: https://rpc.linea.build. The native asset is ETH; the explorer is Lineascan.
Keep some ETH for subsequent actions: token spending approval, swapping or supplying.
Linea Bridge offers a native bridge and an aggregator. For an exchange withdrawal, the destination network must be Linea.

Wallet · Terminal
A Web3 product combining self-custody with a dedicated DEX trading module. The wallet is available in apps and an extension; the DEX combines token discovery, analysis and swap execution.
Web
Access is prohibited in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Crimea, Sevastopol, Donetsk and Luhansk. Referral codes support seed phrase wallets and private key wallets; the latter are supported only on Solana and EVM networks.

Users pay ETH for transactions. Revenue covers Ethereum costs; the remaining amount funds the dual ETH and LINEA burn.
The Linea Consortium oversees ecosystem funding.
LINEA programmes support developers, users, liquidity and Ethereum public goods.
The consortium oversees emissions, grants and incentives. LINEA has no onchain tokenholder voting.
