CRYPTO IS PUSHED DOWN AMID CALM MACRO

🔴 Negative — BTC’s decline accelerated, fear is extreme.

The main event of the day is a new downward impulse in BTC: from ~69.8k to 67.5k in a day (about -3.2%), while over the week the drawdown is already around -11.6%. Against this backdrop, the macro picture has hardly changed: the dollar is standing still, 10-year and 2-year yields aren’t moving, and the VIX is around 17 — the stock market isn’t pricing in stress. Liquidity in the system has moderately increased over the week, meaning the “ground” under risk overall isn’t deteriorating.

The crypto side looks like a sell-off within the market itself: the fear index remains in the extreme fear zone (11), although it bounced off even lower values. On ETFs the picture is mixed: the daily inflow remains positive (+$145m), but noticeably weaker than yesterday, while the weekly total is still negative (-$683m), although it has become less bad — pressure from institutions is easing, but hasn’t disappeared. From yesterday’s “lull at 70k” scenario, the market moved into a phase of a clear correction: the key question is whether sustainable demand (in ETFs and on spot) will appear against the backdrop of today’s CPI/NFP releases and Treasury auctions.

WHAT TO WATCH

1) BTC’s reaction to today’s CPI/NFP data block: more important than the direction will be the speed of the return above 70k.
2) Flows in BTC ETFs: maintaining daily inflows with a shrinking weekly outflow is a stabilization signal.
3) The dollar and yields: if they start rising after the data/auctions, pressure on crypto will intensify.
