MEXC leads on 1 of 2 criteria against 0 for HTX — the rest are close enough to call a draw. Which of them matters depends on what you need the exchange for.

MEXC has a lower average USDT fee across shared networks with withdrawals open than HTX. The result may differ on an individual network.

Rows marked “Reference” show catalogue width — the size of the listing, not the quality of the exchange — and do not count towards the overall result. The result comes from three substantive criteria: staking rates, average withdrawal fee and network availability.

The table shows the average USDT fee across the same set of networks where both exchanges allow withdrawals and publish a fee. The summary shows the fee on the named network (TRC20 first, then other networks), not the absolute minimum. The cheapest transfer between these exchanges is calculated separately and requires deposits on the receiving side.

How these two differ

The HTX vs MEXC question splits into two filters before it reaches features: whether you may open an account at all, and how far down the coin list you need to go. HTX is the older venue — running since 2013, renamed from Huobi in September 2023. MEXC is younger and competes on listing breadth: in the Yieldo database HTX carries 1157 coins with withdrawal data and MEXC 9645, 1014 of them shared.

Jurisdiction decides more here than the tariff does. The HTX user agreement bars residents of every EU member state, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong, mainland China and the United States from all services, and blocks derivatives under a second list reaching New Zealand, Israel and Kyrgyzstan. The MEXC list is shorter on Europe but names Canada, Malaysia and Kazakhstan. Both reserve the right to change it without notice, so run the check before you register.

MEXC publishes zero maker and zero taker fees across all spot pairs as its standing structure — no end date, no volume threshold, institutional and API accounts carved out. HTX keeps a tiered Prime schedule with a discount for paying fees in HT, and switches zero-maker on only for selected pairs and only for a window. Neither lets you skip KYC: HTX grants deposit and withdrawal rights only from verification level 1, with levels 2 and 3 raising the caps, while MEXC says skipping it can restrict deposits, withdrawals and trading.

Earn is the one comparison this page will not fake. HTX runs an Earn section, but Yieldo does not collect data for it, so our database holds no HTX Earn rows — the gap is ours, not the exchange's. HTX funding is partial for a related reason: much of its perpetual book is equities and commodities, which our provider filters out. Reliability is measured the same way on both: 19% of HTX networks and 17.7% of MEXC networks are closed right now, with 0 and 0 freezes over 30 days.

Which one suits you

Pick HTX if
  • → your country sits on the MEXC blocked list and not on the HTX one — that is how Kazakhstan, Canada and Malaysia fall out
  • → you trade major pairs, where the length of the coin list decides nothing
  • → venue longevity matters to you: HTX has been running since 2013, first as Huobi and then under its own name
Open HTX
Pick MEXC if
  • → you need the long tail: coins that only MEXC carries in our withdrawal database currently number 8631
  • → zero spot fees matter to you as a standing tariff rather than a campaign with an end date
  • → you want Earn products alongside trading: MEXC has them in our data and we have no HTX data at all

A route requires open withdrawals at the sender and deposits at the receiver on the same network and in the same token form. Selection requires a known fee and a withdrawal minimum compatible with 1,000 USDT. The fee shown is the sender withdrawal fee; verify the terms at both exchanges before transferring.

Moving money from HTX to MEXC is a plain on-chain transfer: there is no intermediary rail, and you pay the withdrawal network fee on the HTX side. Direction matters more than the reputation of the chain — a network can be cheap to withdraw on and closed for deposits at the other end, so pick the route by its status at both ends.

  1. Find a network HTX will let you withdraw on and MEXC will credit. The transfer cost block below lists only those working routes and prices a $1,000 move — right now the cheapest one runs over BSC.
  2. Copy the MEXC deposit address for that exact network. A TRC-20 address will not accept a BEP-20 transfer, and recovery is not always possible.
  3. Check the minimum withdrawal on the HTX side as well as the fee — on a few hundred dollars the minimum hurts more than the fee does. The per-coin breakdown sits on the HTX withdrawal fees page and in the table below.
  4. Make sure withdrawals are open to you at all: HTX grants that right only from verification level 1, and the caps above it depend on your level.
  5. Send it, then follow the confirmations in a block explorer rather than in the exchange interface — MEXC credits the deposit after the required number of confirmations, not at the moment you press send.

Each row compares one coin on one shared network; fees are in units of that coin. BTC includes only Bitcoin and the separate SegWit option; BTC representations on BSC, X Layer and other chains are excluded. The network and token form must match the receiving address details. FAQ

Is HTX or MEXC available where I live?
Check this first, because it often settles the choice for you. HTX bars residents of every EU member state, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong, mainland China, the United States and several sanctioned jurisdictions from all services, and bars derivatives separately in New Zealand, Israel, Kyrgyzstan and a handful of others. MEXC does not serve the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, mainland China, Hong Kong or the Russian-controlled regions of Ukraine. Both agreements state that the list can change without notice.
Which venue lists more coins?
Listing breadth is the whole MEXC strategy, and our withdrawal-fee database shows it: 9645 coins there against 1157 on HTX. 1014 sit on both sides, 8631 only on MEXC and 143 only on HTX. That is the coverage of our database, not the full listing of either exchange — check the specific ticker in the overlap table above.
Do both exchanges require KYC?
Yes. HTX grants deposit and withdrawal permissions from KYC level 1, and levels 2 and 3 raise the caps from there. MEXC says outright that skipping verification can restrict deposits, withdrawals and trading, and its daily caps step up with each level too. The thresholds depend on your region and move, so confirm them inside your account before a large withdrawal instead of trusting a review.
Which one is cheaper to trade on?
They price differently rather than one being uniformly cheaper. MEXC publishes zero maker and zero taker fees on all spot pairs as a standing structure with no end date, carving out institutional accounts, market makers and API users. HTX charges a tiered Prime schedule, discounts it when you pay fees in HT, and runs zero-maker on selected pairs for a limited window only. For withdrawals the answer is per network rather than per exchange — that is what the fee table above is for.
Why is there no Earn comparison on this page?
Because half of it would have to be invented. HTX runs an Earn section with fixed, flexible and staking products, but Yieldo does not collect data for it, so our database holds no HTX Earn rows — the gap is ours, not the exchange's. Putting live MEXC products against an empty column would look like a verdict without being one. Funding is comparable but partial on the HTX side, because much of its perpetual book is equities, indices and commodities that we filter out. Rates in the funding block are normalised to a common interval, so the two columns can be read against each other.
How do I move funds from HTX to MEXC?
Over a network that HTX lets you withdraw on and MEXC accepts deposits on. The pair shares 117 such networks, and the transfer cost block above picks the cheapest one in each direction and prices a $1,000 move. As of this check the route runs over BSC, and the fee on it works out at 0.01 USDT per $1,000. Confirm the route is open before you send — networks get paused for maintenance.

What to choose
