About Hyperliquid

Hyperliquid combines a trading venue with its own Layer 1 network. Perpetuals and spot trading run on HyperCore, where order books, trades and liquidations are processed on-chain. HyperEVM is another part of the same network, where developers deploy smart contract applications.

The name refers to both a Layer 1 network and its trading venue. HyperCore runs perpetuals and spot markets; HyperEVM runs smart contract applications. The Yieldo exchange profile covers trading, while the ecosystem page covers the network and its apps.

How often is funding paid?

Every hour. With a positive rate, longs pay shorts; with a negative rate, shorts pay longs. Funding moves between position holders, while trading fees are charged separately.

How does HLP differ from staking HYPE?

An HLP deposit shares the profit or loss of a vault that provides liquidity and runs trading strategies. Staking HYPE delegates tokens to network validators. These products have different return sources, risks and withdrawal terms.

Do I need to move funds to HyperEVM to trade?

Perpetuals and spot markets run on HyperCore. A transfer to HyperEVM is for applications on that part of the network and does not by itself fund a trading balance. Select the intended action in the Hyperliquid interface and check the network, asset and destination address.

How does spot trading differ from a perpetual?

Spot trading buys the asset itself. A perpetual is a contract on its price without an expiry: it requires collateral, can be liquidated and involves funding payments.
