Asset profile

SKY is Sky Protocol's governance token on Ethereum and the successor to MKR. Holders vote on protocol settings and the use of its funds, or delegate their voting power to a representative. MKR can be converted to SKY through the Sky app: the base ratio is 1 MKR to 24,000 SKY, reduced by the applicable delayed-upgrade charge. To join the reward programme, a holder deposits SKY in the Staking Engine. Under the programme's rules, part of the protocol surplus, including borrower fees, funds SKY purchases and token distributions to participants. Rewards are claimed manually in the app. Deposits have no fixed lockup period: SKY in a position without a loan can be withdrawn to the wallet at any time. Deposited SKY can also serve as collateral for a USDS loan; withdrawing collateral then depends on the debt and collateral position. USDS is a dollar stablecoin, while SKY is the governance token.
