About Kraken

Kraken is one of the oldest exchanges still trading at scale: by its own account the platform has been running for more than fourteen years and serves over 13 million clients. Its European entity, Payward Europe Solutions Limited, is registered in Dublin and regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. Russia is on the exchange’s prohibited-regions list: Kraken accepts no customers from there and allows no deposits.

Reserves are confirmed by an independent third-party accountant; the most recent published snapshot was taken on 30 June 2026. In December 2024 Kraken launched a network of its own — Ink, an Ethereum layer 2 on the OP Stack where gas is paid in ETH.

Yieldo collects Kraken spot quotes, crypto withdrawal fees and Earn rates. Rates depend on the product and account eligibility; APR ranges are shown at their lower bound. Per-network deposit status is not measured. Kraken Futures is outside the funding section.

Pros

  • + One of the oldest exchanges still trading — more than fourteen years by its own account
  • + Reserves confirmed by an independent third-party accountant, latest snapshot 30 June 2026
  • + European entity in Dublin, regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland
  • + Spot quotes are public and need no keys, so collection does not depend on IP allowlists

Cons

  • Russia is on the prohibited-regions list: Kraken accepts no customers from there and allows neither fiat nor crypto deposits
  • Withdrawal fees and Earn rates are available only behind a private key
  • Kraken publishes no per-network deposit status, so deposit freezes on it cannot be measured
  • Perpetual contracts live on a separate venue, Kraken Futures, and stay outside funding
  • Ink Points is a Kraken Pro loyalty programme, not points of the Ink network: the exchange article describes no conversion into the INK token

FAQ

FAQ

Is Kraken available in Russia?
No. Russia is named in the prohibited-regions list in the exchange’s own help centre: “We do not accept customers, or allow fiat currency or cryptocurrency deposits, from the following regions.” An account cannot be opened or verified with Russian residency, and deposits are closed in both fiat and crypto. The same list holds Afghanistan, Belarus, Cuba, DR Congo, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Libya, North Korea, Sudan, South Sudan, Syria and the Ukrainian regions of Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk.
What does Yieldo collect from Kraken?
Yieldo collects Kraken spot quotes, crypto withdrawal fees and Earn rates. Rates depend on the product and account eligibility; APR ranges are shown at their lower bound. Per-network deposit status is not measured. Kraken Futures is outside the funding section.
Are Kraken and the Ink network the same thing?
No. Ink is an Ethereum layer 2 on the OP Stack that Kraken launched in December 2024; gas there is paid in ETH, not in an exchange token. The network and the exchange are separate, and Ink can be used without a Kraken account.
What are Ink Points?
A Kraken Pro loyalty programme for active traders, running since 6 April 2026: points accrue for trading, holding, staking and platform activity. The exchange article on the programme describes no conversion of points into the INK token.
Does Kraken confirm its reserves?
Yes. The check is performed by an independent third-party accountant and published on a page of its own; the most recent published snapshot was taken on 30 June 2026.
Why is a deposit or transfer route unconfirmed?
Yieldo has no measured deposit status for Kraken. This does not mean deposits are closed: check the asset and network availability in your Kraken account before transferring.
Is Kraken safe to use?

What are staking rates on Kraken?
