CAKE is the token of PancakeSwap, a platform for swapping crypto assets. Under Tokenomics 3.0, part of the funds from PancakeSwap products supports CAKE purchases and burns, removing tokens from circulation. The former veCAKE programme and its trading-fee sharing have ended. One current use for CAKE is participation in CAKE.PAD, sales of tokens from new projects. While an event is open, a participant commits CAKE through Deposit. After the sale, Claim collects the project tokens and unused CAKE, less any applicable participation fee. If commitments exceed the sale's target, allocations are proportional to the funds committed. Events with staged token releases allow participants to claim available tokens according to the schedule on the event page. CAKE.PAD does not require a prior veCAKE lock. CAKE is issued on BNB Smart Chain and is also represented on Ethereum; the official PancakeSwap Swap section provides a route to buy it.
