Ethereum Name Service connects readable names such as alice.eth to wallet addresses and other records. The ENS token gives holders a role in governing the protocol.
ENS holders vote on protocol changes and treasury spending. To participate, they assign voting power to their own address or a representative; registering a name is a separate action in the ENS app.
