XMR is the native coin of the Monero payments network, used for transfers, purchases and network fees. Ring signatures conceal the spent output among possible participants, stealth addresses create one-time payment destinations, and RingCT hides amounts. Miners perform RandomX proof of work and receive fees and block rewards. A wallet scans the blockchain with its view key to recognize incoming payments. The owner can separately show a selected payment using that transaction’s key.
