LINK is the token of Chainlink, a network that supplies applications with data such as asset prices and connects different blockchains. Customers pay for its services, and node operators are compensated for their work. Payment Abstraction converts payments into LINK; part of the revenue accumulates in the strategic Chainlink Reserve. Separately, a holder can deposit LINK into Chainlink Staking v0.2 on Ethereum to support oracle services and receive programme rewards. New deposits require available pool capacity. Withdrawing starts a 28-day wait, followed by a seven-day window to claim the tokens. Missing that window leaves the deposited LINK in the programme again. Withdrawing forfeits rewards that are still locked; rewards gradually become claimable during a 90-day participation period. ETH is needed for network transactions.
