LDO: the governance token of Lido DAO

Lido accepts ETH for staking and issues stETH, which represents deposited funds and validator performance. The LDO token is used to govern the protocol through Lido DAO.
LDO holders decide on protocol parameters, operators and treasury spending. At dao.lido.fi, holders can vote directly or appoint a representative while keeping control of their LDO. An stETH position is created separately by depositing ETH into Lido.

LDO Earn is different from staking ETH with Lido
An LDO product in the table concerns the LDO governance token. It does not give the displayed balance the Ethereum staking return associated with stETH.
Which asset goes in and which comes out?
Lido’s core staking flow accepts ETH and issues stETH, which represents staked ETH and reflects rewards or penalties. LDO is used in Lido governance. Holding LDO does not by itself produce stETH or an ETH staking payout. For an LDO Earn offer, the named provider determines the reward asset and conditions.
Use the exit route for the actual asset
An LDO exchange position follows that exchange’s redemption rules. A Lido stETH position instead has a protocol withdrawal queue before ETH can be claimed, with timing dependent on the queue and available ETH. Selling stETH on a market is another route but at the market price. Neither mechanism is an LDO unstaking period.
